Tolqyn Film Fund OEIC Ltd. invites participation in the pitching of film projects

The film project pitching organized by Tolqyn Film Fund OEIC Ltd. (hereinafter – the Fund), managed by Dasco Capital Ltd., is held for feature-length films and animations (running time – at least 75 minutes) and consists of three stages:

Stage 1: Collection and review of applications, creation of a shortlist. Only projects with commercial potential will be considered.

Stage 2: Evaluation of shortlisted projects during an Advisory Board meeting, following which selected film projects are forwarded to the Fund’s Investment Committee.

Stage 3: Decisions made by the Fund’s Investment Committee regarding investments in the film projects.

During the first stage, from June 4 to June 15, 2025 (until 9 PM Astana time), applicants must submit the following set of documents to the email address tolqyn@dasco.kz:

  1. Project Presentation:
  • title, theme, genre, target audience;
  • inspiration and references (comparisons with successful films);
  • audiovisual presentation (trailer, teaser, or sizzle reel – no longer than 2 minutes);
  • social and/or cultural significance of the project;
  • cast (dream cast);
  • key members of the production and directorial team;
  • team’s experience, portfolio, and commercial successes.
  1. Screenplay – PDF format, Courier New font, size 12, single-spaced, at least 50 pages.
  2. Financial Plan:
  • total project cost;
  • expenditure limit (detailed cost estimate);
  • requested investment amount from the fund;
  • potential co-producers, grants, sponsors;
  • production schedule and financing timeline from the Fund;
  • preliminary distribution and revenue plan (domestic, international releases, TV, streaming platforms), box office scenarios (pessimistic, target, optimistic);
  • expected profit distribution (waterfall model).
  1. Marketing Plan, including promotion in cinemas, on television, social media platforms, outdoor advertising, abroad, etc.

Film projects selected in the first stage will advance to the second stage of pitching.

In the second stage, presentations will be conducted offline. Candidates will have 10 minutes for their project presentations and an additional 10 minutes to answer questions from Advisory Board members.

Information regarding the time and venue of the second stage, as well as the results of each pitching stage, will be communicated individually to each candidate.
